Share the K Experience with Future Hornets
Want to help the next generation of Hornets discover all that Kalamazoo College has to offer? From referring a high school student to chatting with families during a visit day, your voice as a K alum matters. Whether you have a few minutes or a few hours to spare, we invite you to take part in one of these easy and rewarding ways to support K’s admission efforts.
Our Refer a Student Form is a simple tool that allows you to recommend a student who might be a great fit for K (and vice versa). When you provide the student’s contact information, Admission will reach out to that individual. It’s quick, easy, and impactful. Who better to identify future Hornets than those who have experienced the K-Plan firsthand?

In addition to referring students, if you’re in the local area, you can volunteer at one of our Discover K Days or Visit the Zoo events. Alumni are invited to mingle from 8:15 to 9 a.m. to talk about your K experience and welcome the next generation of Hornets and their families. These small moments of connection can leave a lasting impression on students and parents alike!
Finally, we are continuing our tradition of having alumni write handwritten notes to our deposited students. These messages from alumni help incoming students feel connected and celebrated as they prepare for their K journey. Whether you write many or a few, students and families tell us it’s a meaningful gesture that lets students know they are part of a caring community before they even arrive on campus. To support you in these efforts, we’ve created a Top 10 talking points list to capture what makes K so distinctive today. Whether you’re chatting with a prospective student, writing a welcome note, or talking to friends and family, these talking points will help you share the K story with confidence and pride.
If you’re ready to get involved—or just curious to learn more—you can explore all these options and our talking points by visiting the admission website and selecting Connect with Us/Alumni Support, or follow this link to the Alumni Support page. Whether near or far, your participation makes a difference. And in sharing your story, you help others write theirs.
